Honda SP Shine 160: A new city charm
Recently Honda launched the 160cc displacement version of the beloved urban workhorse, the SP Shine. It's basically proposed to be the modern version of the previous Honda Hornet and at the same time the upgraded version of the innocent shine 125. In the suburban and urban areas this bike nowadays can be frequently spotted. People are willingly buying it. It radiates a smart, modern and fanatic persona, impressive power and showcased by Honda at a very competitive segment. It's progressing towards new endeavours of leading the city skimmer segment.
DESIGN AND STYLING
Based on the Previous SP 125, it is derived as the more wilder version of it which showcases sharper haunches , a fierce petrol tank with carbon fibre treatment and more bloated body panels. It gets wider rear tyre to accompany with the more powerful engine. A big leap from the 125 one is the monoshock suspensions. It gets high riding position and it feels quite sturdy and taller as compared to the normal commuter segment motorcycles. It provides a very impressive riding position and feels very confident on the roads although it's not too much tall which would become difficult to manoeuvre. It gets revised LED tail lamps which looks really out of the world. It also comes with LED head lamps, comes fitted with a digital instrument cluster with modern techy features like navigation , Bluetooth , gear position assist etc . Also comes with hazard lamps and kill switch too.
WHAT'S THE HORSE's?
The 142 kilogram motorcycle gets powered by a 162.71cc 1 cylinder 4 stroke petrol engine which churns out power of 13.46PS@7500rpm and max torque of 14.58 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Claims a mileage of 62 km/l approx. The engine is very quite with perfect nvh levels and the torque is what similar to that of normal 150 to 160cc bikes. It's embodied with a five gear transmission which is beneficial on the highways and long commutes.
FEATURES AND TECH
It gets single channel ABS and also offers twin disc brakes along with gear shift indicator service reminder and many modern pieces of tech. The Trip, odometer, and the tacho are all digital.

JOURNEY AHEAD....
This bike overall is a nice option in the current city committing segment and nice treat for power lovers who cruise through the streets and also is a reliable option thanks to Honda's superbly engineered reliable engine. The latter is also pocket friendly with a very attractive price tag of around 1.4 to 1.5 lakhs on road. It's eventually a stylish bike on a rigid budget.
It can be overridden off the unicorn 160 of the same brand for the difference of 20 k to 30k RS. And is a better option among its quick rivals like BAJAJ Pulsar 150, ns 160, TVS apache RTR, Yamaha MT 15 and more such. Moreover in the festive season one can get good resale value of old vehicles and heavily discounted price tag on this motorcycle
